It's not a high pitch squeal.....the sound reminds me of a gear driven motor but not as loud.A loose steering belt could be the culprit behind a whining noise when accelerating. When it happens, the sound will occur when you are turning the steering wheels. Tightening the belt will solve this issue. 3. The power steering system.
